Privacy & identity verification

RentAWeekend uses only the personal information needed to operate customer accounts, helper applications, bookings, safety controls and payments. Helper identity verification is used to reduce impersonation and duplicate verified identities.

Phone verification

If you sign in by phone, your number is verified with a one-time code and identifies that account. Verification codes expire and are not stored in plaintext.

Google sign-in

If you choose Google sign-in, Google shares your account identifier, verified email and basic profile information with RentAWeekend. We use your Google account identifier, name and email to create and recognize your account. We do not request access to Gmail, Drive or your contacts, and do not retain Google access or refresh tokens. Your password stays with Google.

Guest plans move to your signed-in account only when you choose to keep them during sign-in. Signing in with Google does not verify your phone number or identity for helper work.

Helper identity verification

Helper applicants complete Ghana Card biometric verification through our configured identity-verification provider. Camera capture and biometric processing happen in the provider flow. RentAWeekend does not store a Ghana Card image or raw biometric selfie in the helper profile.

What RentAWeekend keeps

We keep the verification provider, provider job/reference, status, timestamps, a masked identifier suffix, and a keyed non-reversible identity fingerprint used to detect a verified identity already attached to another account. We also keep your explicit verification consent.

Marketplace information

Public helper profiles contain marketplace information such as display name, service areas, offered services, rates, ratings and approved status. Private identity-verification records and internal review notes are not part of the public profile.

Access and safety

Booking, payment, GPS check-in and ledger information is access-controlled on the server. Being signed in is not by itself permission to read another person's booking.

This notice describes the identity and marketplace data flows currently implemented in RentAWeekend and may be updated as verification providers or product features change.
